I'm Back!!!!

Well sorry about that, I kinda disappeared there! I didn't realize how dedicated to blogging you have to be! Hopefully that will not happen again... no promises there though.

ANYWAYS... back to more interesting things...

A lot has happened and changed since I last posted. I am now living and working up at Wintergreen. I LOVE IT! I am actually living out one of my dreams, living life as a ski bum! I met some really chill awesome dudes that live up here as well. I am actually about to move out of my parents house and start living with them. I am sure I will write about the adventures we have together very soon!

Song of the day/month/week: I'm Different - 2 Chainz
It is a great song to drink, smoke, snowboard, ski, and party to...It is a dope song and we listen to it constantly!

I will write again very soon! In the mean time, PEACE!

November 27th, 2012

My day was mainly uneventful. Just a bunch of driving to and from doctors appointments and packing to move to Wintergreen on Thursday. But I have to tell you what happened on the way home from my last appointment today! [This actually happened! No joke!]

I was jamming out to my surfing play list on the way home [just to clarify, when I say jamming out I mean singing at the top of my lungs, dancing, and most likely looking completely ridiculous!] I'm singing 'Red Red Wine' by UB40 as I pull up to this stop light [singing = more like one of those wolfs that howls at the moon]. Next to me there is this minivan [soccer mom!] with not one but three Christmas threes on its roof! I was kinda impressed that they managed to get three Christmas trees on the top of their car. The kids in the backseat of the car looked like they were singing Christmas music. I looked away after a couple of seconds, returning to my 'Red Red Wine'. But when I looked back over I did a double take for the tree that was on top is now lying in between our cars. When I look back up at the other two trees I see two squirrels!! My mouth just dropped in shock and my eyes bulged with excitement honestly I didn't know what to think. I was already on the edge of bursting out laughing but what happened next just sent me doubled over laughing to the point I was literally about to pee my pants! The soccer mom for some reason thought it would be a good idea to open the sun roof to get a better look and count her trees I guess. Well this wasn't a good idea for as soon as she opens it, I saw a little furry gray animal scurry into her car! The mom is now screaming at the top of her lungs, the kids look like they were having a spaz attack with body parts flailing every which way [their defense tactic against the squirrel]! The squirrel was running and bouncing around the car frantically trying to escape what he fell into. The little girl in the back rolled down her window and the squirrel did not hesitate one second before flying out that window [I swear I have never seen a squirrel move like that before! It was like a bullet!]. The family stopped screaming and 'Jingle Bell Rock' filled the silence. The mom looked over at me in my car dying of laughter and then she herself started laughing! We both got out of our cars and tried to get the third three back on the car. After three failed attempts and many pine needless to the face a two guys got out of their cars and helped us put the tree back. They didn't say anything but you could tell from their faces that they had been extremely amused by the whole situation. Three or four car honks later we were on our way and it was like nothing had ever happened.

I don't know if I did the story justice but holy shit was it a sight! So unbelievably funny!

Where am I now? - Richmond, Virginia.

Now the only set plan I have at the moment is to move up to Wintergreen Resort in Nellysford, Virginia this coming Thursday. My family has a house up on the mountain and I am going to live there while I work at Freestyle [Your Source for Adrenaline Sports!] the ski and snowboarding shop in the mountain inn. I will be working there full time till near the end of March. Hopefully I will make enough money to kick off this whole traveling the world gig.

After I go back to California for a week to visit my aunt and uncle and their daughter, J, who is more like a little sister to me, I will be on my way back to Costa Rica [hopefully]! I've been to Costa Rica twice before and I have developed this attachment to Jaco. I can't really say what makes it so special for me for I know a lot of people dish on Jaco, saying it is dirty and what not but I think it is beautiful! Maybe it is the people I met there. Maybe it is the place I stayed. [School of the World, if you are ever in Jaco, Costa Rica you MUST look it up and stay there! It is the best place on earth!] Maybe it is the Pura Vida! Whatever it is, Costa Rica is now like a drug to me! I just can't get enough of the country!
If we were all sitting around a fire and someone asked me to tell all my stories from my time in Costa Rica, they would make my face hurt because I would be beaming with joy! The memories are what I cherish most from the surfing with [changing the names because I haven't asked for permission to write about them yet] Ken, Richard, Tom, Jerry, and Gus to hanging out with G.

One day we were out surfing and Richard was my instructor. The waves were decent size about 4 to 6 feet and I was doing terrible! I kept falling off my board, I could even really catch a wave to fall off of in the first place. To say the least I was getting a lil pissed at my self. Then the Spartan came out of nowhere and stole the one wave I was able to stand up on! I think my face was red I was so mad. Richard was just chuckling on his board but caught the next wave before I could glare at him. Then to send me over the top, the Spartan comes to close to me and when a big wave came his board hit me! Oh I was so furious I swear I was like one of those cartoons that had steam fuming out their ears. Richard comes to me [which by now I am blatantly irritated and angry] to help me catch a wave. I told him what happened and he just kinda smirked, grab my board and flipped it, submersing me into the water! You could imagine how angry and shocked I was. I came up and Richard looked at me with a smile and said "You needed to cool off." And just like that I did. I couldn't be mad anymore after that.  I ended up catching the next wave. To this day that story still makes me chuckle.

The Beginning

Who am I?  - My name is Alyssa Coleman. I am currently 19 years old. Brown hair with eyes that change color from blue, green, and gray. I grew up in Richmond, Virginia (but I'm not your typical southern girl).

My objective? - To share my story with who ever cares to read it.

Why I am doing this? - I am sick. I have been diagnosed through out my life with various diseases. Most of which have been simply minor bumps in the road however unfortunately it seems some are life threatening. That knowledge changes things. You begin to see the world differently. You begin to see yourself differently.
I've realized that life is to short to live the stereotypical way (not that there is anything wrong with that way, it just isn't the right way for me). I was originally living this way. I graduated from high school, got into college. Moved to Redlands, California to go to the University of Redlands (which I highly recommend for any one looking at colleges) but with only a couple weeks left in the first semester of my freshmen year I had to take a leave of absence for medical reasons. If I hadn't had left, I would have finished out college, maybe go to grad school, gotten a job at some company, eventually get married and have a couple of kids, and so on. Now?

I am going to live

I am going to live out my dreams! Travel the world and just be me, completely free. So this is The Beginning of something I have no idea what will become.
